Capital of the Inca Empire for three centuries, World Heritage-listed Cusco is now a major tourist destination, drawing nearly 2 million annual tourists with its well-preserved colonial architecture and proximity to Machu Picchu.
San Blas and Centro Historico De Cusco are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step out of Cusco with an excursion to Archaeological Park Ollantaytambo in Ollantaytambo--about 1h 40 min away. The adventure continues: explore the ancient world of Sacsayhuaman, get engrossed in the history at Museo Inka, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Catedral del Cuzco o Catedral Basilica de la Virgen de la Asuncion, and see the interesting displays at Pre-Columbian Art Museum.

You can take a train from Machu Picchu to Cusco in 3.5 hours. Alternatively, you can drive. In November, daily temperatures in Cusco can reach 26°C, while at night they dip to 8°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Fri) early enough to travel to Arequipa.

In an area dominated three imposing volcanoes, Arequipa vacations allow visitors to admire well-preserved colonial architecture in a dramatic setting.
On the 17th (Fri), examine the collection at Santa Catalina Monastery, get engrossed in the history at Museo Santuarios Andinos, and then explore the stunning scenery at Colca Canyon. Here are some ideas for day two: admire the striking features of Plaza de Armas, admire the striking features of Casa del Moral, then enjoy breathtaking views from Yanahuara, then steep yourself in history at Historic Centre of Arequipa, and finally don't miss a visit to Complejo de la Compania de Jesus.

Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Get some cultural insight at Miraflores and Huaca Pucllana. When in Lima, make a side trip to see El Silencio in Punta Hermosa, approximately 1h 05 min away. There's lots more to do: take a stroll through Barranco, stroll through Circuito Magico del Agua, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco, and take an in-depth tour of Larco Museum.
