New York City
Writer Pearl Buck once called New York City “a place apart,” and this giant urban center remains unlike any other in the world.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at The Old Field Vineyards and Spas & Wellness. Get a sense of the local culture at Bedell Cellars and Mattebella Vineyards. Get out of town with these interesting New York City side-trips: Lenz Winery (in Peconic) and Sherwood House Vineyards (in Jamesport). The adventure continues: explore the world behind art at The Museum of Modern Art, take a stroll through Fifth Avenue, see the interesting displays at Tenement Museum, and admire the landmark architecture of Chrysler Building.

Founded in 1535 by Spanish explorer Francisco Pizarro, Lima represents an interesting blend of modern attractions and preserved colonial architecture, much of it clustered in the World Heritage-listed city center.
Miraflores and Larco Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Step off the beaten path and head to El Silencio and Barranco. Step out of Lima with an excursion to El Canon de Austisha in Huarochiri--about 1:30 hours away. There's lots more to do: contemplate the long history of Centro Historico de Lima, don't miss a visit to Plaza de Armas (Plaza Mayor), pause for some serene contemplation at Cathedral of Lima, and stroll through Playa Costa Verde.
