Skogar

Skógar, literally forests, is a small Icelandic village with a population of roughly 25 located at the south of the Eyjafjallajökull glacier, in the municipality of Rangárþing eystra.The area is known for its waterfall, Skógafoss, on the Skógá river, which springs from 60 metres at the top of an eroded cliff. Take a break from the city and head to Laugavegur and Dyrholaey. Change things up with these side-trips from Skogar: Saga Center (in Hvolsvollur), Vik Church (in Vik) and Fjadrargljufur Canyon (in Kirkjubaejarklaustur). The adventure continues: enjoy the sand and surf at Black Sand Beach, take in the dramatic natural features at Myrdalsjokull Glacier, witness a stunning natural landmark at Seljavallalaug, and tour the pleasant surroundings at Reynisfjara Beach.

Hofn

Höfn or Höfn í Hornafirði is an Icelandic fishing town in the southeastern part of the country. Get some cultural insight at Fransmenn a Islandi and Petra's Stone Collection. Escape the urban bustle at Jokulsarlon Lagoon and Vatnajokull National Park Visitor Center. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Hofn: Hengifoss (in Hallormsstadur) and Djupivogur (Arfleifd & Eggin i Gledivik).
