Renowned as a premier whale-watching destination, Hermanus grew from a quaint fishing village nestled on Walker Bay.
Do some cultural sightseeing at Stanford Hills Estate and LEMBU gallery. Your itinerary includes some good beach time at Grotto Beach and Voelklip Beach. Change things up with a short trip to Stony Point Penguin Colony in Betty's Bay (about 50 minutes away). Regarded as the fourth-oldest town in South Africa, Graaff-Reinet represents a well-preserved historic Dutch colonial settlement, set 750 (2,460 ft) above sea level on the banks of the Sundays River.
Kick off your visit on the 23rd (Sat): examine the collection at Old Residency, see the interesting displays at The Reinet House, then look for all kinds of wild species at Valley of Desolation, and finally contemplate in the serene atmosphere at ANGLICAN ST JAMES CHURCH.
